Grouse Hill Caravan Park

Long-established moorland park at Fylingdales, five miles from Robin Hood's Bay
About Grouse Hill Caravan Park
Grouse Hill Caravan Park occupies an open moorland setting at Fylingdales in the North York Moors National Park, roughly eight miles south of Whitby and close to Robin Hood's Bay and Ravenscar. Run by the same family for half a century, it draws a loyal following of touring caravanners and campers who return for the settled, well-kept feel and genuinely rural position with easy coast access. Pitches accommodate seasonal and touring caravans, motorhomes and tents, alongside glamping pods and holiday homes for those preferring fixed accommodation. A dedicated play field keeps ball games separate from pitching areas, and well-behaved dogs are welcome on leads.
Walkers can step straight onto Fylingdales Moor's footpath network, while Robin Hood's Bay's beach, shops and pubs lie a short drive away. Whitby's harbour and abbey are within day-trip range, and the moorland location delivers genuinely dark skies for stargazing. A few guests note the facilities can feel a touch tired in places, but most appreciate the no-frills practicality and strong return custom speaks to its appeal as a straightforward, moorland-quiet base near the coast.

What visitors say
Just returned home from a very relaxing break. Grouse Hill is in a beautiful location, pitches are well kept , plenty of clean toilet and shower areas, water always warm. Excellent play area for children. Reception and shop on site. Good bus services to Whitby or Scarborough if required. Lovely family who own and run the campsite. Could not recommend enough.

Recently stayed in a glamping pod with running water. Fabulous remote location. Little shop onsite, park, pub nearby (although limited on food options and times of serving) Really liked it here, the only reason for 4 star is the shower block was freezing, the heating wasn’t on, so cold the last day we decided to give having a wash a miss. Also need some shelving of some kind, hooks are great but I don’t like putting wash stuff on the floor. The Also there was a storm and had to venture out to get food. Maybe consider food theme nights with vans. I have had this at other caravan parks. It was a mission in the storm to grab a take away. Apart from that. Lovely! 😻

Nestled in the Yorkshire Moors this place is just magical, from the moment you wake the wonderful wildlife will be up to greet you & the unspoiled star filled night is incredible to see. Whether a romantic little break or a family stay it will not disappoint. The site is family run and immaculately kept. Its location is ideal, being set halfway between Whitby & Scarborough & there’s a handy bus right outside, which winds its way through Robin Hoods Bay to Whitby…the views are incredible. No worrying about parking and you can stop for a glass of wine & a bite to eat in between sight seeing.
