About Aldebaran B&B

Whitby's clifftop abbey and old harbour draw visitors year-round, and Aldebaran B&B gives you a base on Carr Hill Lane within easy reach of both. It's a straightforward, well-run guesthouse rather than a grand hotel, but that suits anyone wanting a comfortable stopover for exploring the town.

Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms and free WiFi, and breakfast is included to set you up for the day. Outside there's a garden and outdoor seating area, useful for a coffee or a packed lunch before heading out, plus a picnic area and luggage storage for those with an early train or late checkout. Reception is staffed around the clock, and free on-site parking is a genuine bonus in a town where space can be tight.

Beyond the doorstep, Whitby offers walking and cycling routes, fishing and watersports, plus pubs, restaurants and entertainment within easy reach, alongside a nearby golf course for a change of pace. It's a practical, comfortable choice for getting the most out of the area without fuss.

Absolutely amazing stay here. Lovely location. Exceptional accommodation. Our room was just beautiful, with an amazing view of the garden and surrounding hills and fields. A breakfast basket was provided on a morning, conveniently left outside of your door at 8am. The basket was brimming with breakfast goodies. We were greeted with a very warm welcome from proprietor, Colleen. Colleen was friendly, warm, lovely to chat to. My partner and I definitely plan on returning to this wonderful establishment xx

Well, Aldebaran is a hidden gem! Please don't go, I want it to be available for when we book again! Absolutely FAULTLESS. Not very often that somewhere is this good. But it's the best place we've stayed. Colleen is an exceptional host. Very approachable and helpful. Our room with the en-suite was tremendous. The bed is mega comfy, the shower pins you to the corner of the cubicle it's that good!! The view out of the window is just stunning! The breakfast that Colleen delivers to your door at 8am in a little Red Riding Hood basket is a real treat. Called "Continental" by Colleen, she really undersells it! 4 lots of different cereals, fresh fruit, natural yoghurt, warm croissants, warm boiled eggs with salt n pepper, crumpets, white n brown bread for toast, fruit bread for toast, Tunnocks Tea Cakes to take, a great choice of teas, instant and filter coffee, milk, fresh orange, bottles of water, cheese. This changes daily depending on your stay. Your own fridge in the room along with a kettle and a toaster. You eat in your room, so you don't get dressed if you don't want, wear a provided bath robe! The room was spotless. Secure storage for bikes if you take them. Whitby is not too far away, several pubs nearby, Sneaton Castle just around the corner. A beautiful area and such pretty countryside. Thank You Colleen we had a fabulous stay and will definitely be back to Aldebaran! 2nd time staying here now, tried room 2 with the separate bathroom. Again, absolutely immaculate. Fantastic shower and huge bath. Again, one of the comfiest beds ever!! Slept SO well. Amazing breakfast basket Again. Absolutely Love it here. Colleen is the perfect host. Whitby never fails to deliver. Trenchers chippy on Friday was fantastic and Sneaton Castle last night was a superb meal, amazing location, fantastic friendly staff and very reasonable price.

Spotless room & I mean spotless! Fantastic view. Super powerful shower. Lovely in room breakfast. Super Quiet location. Definitely NOT for young families. Best suited to a quiet couple who enjoy walking & sitting in the garden. Wonderful hosts. Just enough contact to feel welcome & then left to enjoy your stay. Always on hand if you need anything. Top of our list when in Whitby xxx
