The Old Stables - The Old Stables 1
Wiltshire
View on Google MapsSalisbury sits at the heart of a landscape packed with prehistory, market towns and walking country. The Old Stables is a converted barn just outside the city, positioned between Stonehenge to the north and the New Forest to the south—both within reach for a day out, or a longer exploration of the chalk downland that surrounds them. A pub is within a mile's walk.
The property sleeps six across three bedrooms: two doubles and one with bunk beds. Most of the layout is on the ground floor, arranged open-plan across the living, dining and kitchen areas, with York stone and terracotta flooring and oak beams overhead. Upstairs, a third double bedroom sits under a vaulted ceiling. There's one shower room. The kitchen is equipped for cooking properly—electric oven, induction hob, dishwasher, fridge and freezer all there—and the living space opens onto a garden with a patio. Two cars can park on site. WiFi, bed linen, towels and heating are included; a travel cot is available. One well-behaved dog can come with you. The property is no-smoking throughout.
The walks immediately around the barn are well-established routes through local woodland and open ground, known for bluebells in season and deer in the more wooded sections. It's a base suited to families, groups or anyone wanting to walk or cycle rather than drive everywhere, though Bournemouth's beaches are under an hour away if you need a complete change of scene.
