Didn’t stay in the rooms, can’t comment. Having been here a few times with absolute delight, I’ve been trying to get a spot on Sunday to bring my parents. We couldn’t get a mother’s Sunday booking so went on Saturday instead, no biggy, was just excited to share the place with the parents. I was absolutely shocked with how poor the service was. We had sharing starters, no offer of side plates, one of the waitresses even came over and saw us using menus to cut items on and did nothing. There was no offer to share what the specials were, we had to ask and when we did, we got raised eyebrows and a tone that suggested she couldn’t be bothered. We had to ask for water three times. When my mum asked for a refill, her cup was aggressively snatched from the table. Not a single smile offered in return to ours. It’s such a shame as the food is brilliant and the venue is soo charming, to ruin that with such uninviting wait and bar staff, it genuinely felt like we were an inconvenience to them. I will not be returning, the staff ruined the experience.

I had a great roast around a year ago at this pub. Though I was initially taken aback when the bar steward not only ignored my request for a lager top, specifically in the top, by pouring the lemonade first but then barrated me for explaining the difference (one drinks the beer through the lighter lemonade on top) by shouting 'I know what a top is!'. Whilst pouring a very strong shandy

Man behind the bar was very lovely. No parking available Very rude woman who works there. Singing obnoxiously to herself over guests trying to eat. Complaining loudly that the music wasn’t working. Expected us to sleep in a bed with no covers and no pillow cases! Not to mention a sink wrapped in clingfilm so it couldn’t leak! Have to walk through kitchen and staffing areas. Complete let down of a place that needs a new manageress.

Lots of places to choose to eat in Wimbledon Village. Haven’t been to the Fox & Grapes in sometime but the distinctive menu and ambience was a winner. Food was excellent as was the service - thanks Shaun. Will be returning and recommending to friends.
