About Bainside House
Tucked near Kirkby-on-Bain, Bainside House is a quietly impressive adults-only retreat that punches above its weight. The pitches—six on electric grass, four hardstanding for motorhomes—are complemented by camping pods, and the facilities earn consistent praise: spotless showers with plenty of hot water, immaculate toilets, and all the essentials including W.C. disposal and drinking water.
What really sets it apart is the atmosphere. Peaceful, well-maintained, and run by genuinely welcoming owners, it's the kind of place where attention to detail shows. Having a cracking pub next door serving excellent food is the icing on the cake. Open year-round and dog-friendly, it's a solid base for exploring Woodhall Spa without the bells and whistles—though note there's no WiFi if you need to stay connected.

What visitors say
We loved our stay here! The campsite is fantastic - great hosts, beautifully maintained, well organised and clean. It's perfectly located in the middle of the village, making it easy to have a lovely walk around. Extra points for the pub right next door, and the short little river walk along the back of the site.

Beautiful site, the owners warmly welcomed us showing us to our pitch and all about the site., nothing was too much trouble throughout our 4 night stay with a motorhome. Spotless site, grounds beautifuly kept but also nice to see wild flowers and natural edges showers and toilets, again spotless, cleaned multiple times through out the day and evening. The little honesty shop was perfect, fresh laid eggs, milk, selections of ice creams and cold drinks as well as the usual convienient items like bread and toiletries along with books /magazines to borrow. Plenty of information leaflets to brows too for places to go in the area etc. A walk around their lake was perfect, all the wildlife, colourful wild flowers and seeing people fishing stopping for chats was very relaxing. Quiet and peacefull at nightime too. The owners made time to chat to everyone whilst they were out and about doing their jobd such a lovely couple x The pub next door, exactly the same warm welcome, though we didnt eat there just had drinks, the menu looked fantastic and all smelt delicious as it came out to customers. We highly reccomend staying on this site and we cant wait to return. Jane n Chris xx

Just back from a lovely weekend here. Fiona and Paul are lovely hosts, and are running a lovely site, with very clean and good condition toilets and showers. The site is also very well kept and tidy, and the location is very nice. The pitches are all a very good size, electric supply good, and bins/waste area very good too. We would not hesitate to recommend, and will 100% be returning when next in the area. Thank you Fiona and Paul for our lovely long weekend.

Really enjoyed staying in the pods. The owner checked in a couple of times, which was a nice touch. The campsite and fishery were quiet, relaxed, and very well maintained. Everything felt clean and thoughtfully set up. The pod itself is simple, more like a well-equipped shed, but it had everything needed for a comfortable stay. One small improvement would be having some basic utensils like a knife, fork, or cooking utensils. It’s possible I just missed them. Managed to catch a couple of fish as well, which was a great bonus. Would definitely come back.
