About Lady Willington Camping and Caravan Park
Tucked into seven peaceful acres on the Welsh borders near Whitchurch, Lady Willington Camping and Caravan Park delivers spacious, well-kept pitches—grass or hardstanding—each with electric and water hook-up. The facilities earn consistent praise: immaculate, modern shower blocks with wheelchair-accessible loos and large showers, plus thoughtful extras like a communal fridge-freezer, kettle and hairdryer. Pam, Richard and their team run the smallholding with genuine warmth, creating the kind of welcome that brings guests back year after year.
The location puts walkers within easy reach of Chirk Castle, the aqueduct and rolling Shropshire countryside, while cyclists and canoeists have plenty of nearby options. Whitchurch is six miles east for supplies; Wrexham sits ten minutes west. It's a refined, family-friendly spot—dogs welcome all year, barbecues allowed—and though it's small (under 25 pitches), that only adds to the tranquil, well-tended feel.

What visitors say
Clear, easy to follow instructions were provided for our arrival, including “do not arrive before 1pm”. We received a friendly welcome at the entrance barriers, and this continued with all the team we met over the next few days. The pitches were spread over different sections and were large and mostly level with coloured markers denoting type (EHU, water, drain etc). The motorhome service area has water, chemical waste and a full width drain for grey waste. The small shop in reception caters for all emergencies (at a price) and a separate shed gives some good local information on walks, places to visit, etc. Chirk is @3/4 mile walk away with a choice of site exits and routes with easy access to Chirk Station and the canal path. We took the bus to Llangollen and walked back. A couple of fish and chip/pizza vans turn up during the week, check website for days/times (one was cash only). Centre of the site has a large, immaculately clean, toilet / shower block especially good was the “for everyone” toilet/shower/bath/changing room – perfect for families or anyone needing more space. Only question would be the extra £5 for “premium” Wi-Fi or 4 hours maximum regular when you are paying £40-£50pn. Seems excessive especially given the phone and internet signal is rubbish (1 bar at best!) – why not just include it in the day rate? That said, it is a good excuse to tech detox :) This was our first camc site visit. We will be back to Lady Margarets and if all are like this, we will certainly be using again.

We absolutely loved this site. We had a very warm welcome from Deborah and then met the rest of the team, 10 out of 10 well done you couldn't have done anything better. We stayed on fully serviced pitch 75, perfect for us Showers laundry again cannot fault Surrounded by woodland and loads of bunnies jumping around. Gate from site takes you to local village of Chirk, definitely worth a visit only 15 minute walk from site. Sadly only stayed 2 nights and tried to extend but fully booked. We will definitely be back for longer hopefully before November so we get to see Deborah and the team.

The wardens are amazing from the time you arrive to when you leave. They are welcoming, friendly and helpful. The site has a range of pitches to choose from and each is a good size and fairly level. Water and waste points are well situated around the site but I would recommend a 25m EHU cable for many pitches. It's a short walk to the town which has a couple of pubs and is quite picturesque but there isn't a great deal there. One aqueduct is very close by and offers a short walk to a great pub/restaurant - The Trap with fabulous views. It's a longer walk in the opposite direction to the other aqueduct and can be quite muddy, but is a lovely walk past the canal boats and marina. Chirk castle is nearby - a few minutes drive or a 40 minutes walk through the grounds. Beware it closed at 4 when we stayed so make sure you check the times. Facilities at the site are superb and spotlessly clean and a fish and chip van arrived on Friday evening followed by a pizza van on Saturday night. Excellent site, brilliant wardens and a great location.

Having just spent 3 nights here I would definitely recommend. We enjoyed the whole experience, from the relaxing easy walks along the canal, cycling along the canal to Llangolle, local pubs (poacher’s pocket was a very unpleasant experience) the wardens work hard to maintain the high standards. Everything was spotless. I would certainly recommend and I am sure we will be back in the future. Thank You
