About Gennell House Farm
Tucked just outside Flaxton village, this 20-acre smallholding strikes a brilliant balance between peaceful seclusion and accessibility – you're roughly 15 minutes from both historic York and foodie haven Malton. The owners raise animals and tend a large orchard, selling their apples and pears when in season, and the site itself enjoys attractive views across gently rolling countryside. Pitches are spacious and laid-back, with lovely walks right on the doorstep (dogs welcome, one per booking, kept on leads).
As a pop-up site, facilities are basic but thoughtfully done: an amenity block with toilets, showers and a kitchenette housing a microwave, kettle, toaster and fridge-freezer. There's no hob or oven, so bring your own cooking kit if you fancy anything more elaborate. The village pub is just over half a mile away – an easy 15-minute stroll – and you're ideally placed for days exploring the Howardian Hills, North York Moors or the streets and eateries of York and Malton.

What visitors say
Really enjoyed staying here. Very friendly and helpful owners. The site itself is easy to find with good transport links. It is quiet & peaceful there with big pitches. The toilets & shower were always clean. For some of the pitches a 30m power lead is needed, the owners have spare ones if yours doesn't reach. Will definitely be returning. to the site.

I almost don’t want to share this amazing campsite! Small campsite with plenty of space, EHU available and single discount also available, a lovely relaxing adult site, beautiful views on a working farm. Clean toilets and showers and area to wash up, recycling and water point. Sarah the owner very friendly and stops for a chat. My friend left her car keys at the site and Sarah even offered to post them back to her! A short distance from the village of Welburn which has an excellent pub and coffee shop. I have booked a return visit. Many thanks for a excellent weekend.

Had a fabulous week stay. Nice a quiet with super views across the countryside. Sarah is so helpful. Shower and toilets spotless and all you need. Ideal for the bus to Malton (10 mins) and York (30mins). Local pub and Dough Cafe/bakery in walking distance. Will definitely be back. 😊

We've just spent three nights at Greet Farm site and thoroughly enjoyed it. It is a lovely peaceful place, with horses grazing and areas of long grass blowing in the wind. The views are fantastic and we were treated to some spectacular sunsets. The shower and toilets are spotlessly clean and the information leaflets about local walks were excellent. Sarah is a lovely friendly lady and provided useful information about the village. We will certainly be returning sooner rather than later!
