Sunny Cottage
North Yorkshire
Sunny Cottage suits couples, small families and friends looking for a base in rural North Yorkshire. The 1700s stone cottage occupies a quiet spot in Welburn, a village in the Howardian Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and has been updated with modern comforts without sacrificing character. You have the whole property to yourself, with private parking for one car and additional space on the road outside.
Inside there are two bedrooms—one with a double bed, one with two singles—and two bathrooms, one with a bath and shower. The ground floor has a living room with smart TV, a separate dining room, and a kitchen equipped for proper cooking. Oil heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are included; there is also a washing machine and freezer in an outhouse. The enclosed garden has a patio, seating and lawn. One small dog stays free of charge.
The village itself has an inn a few yards away, plus a shop and café. Dalby Forest and Sutton Bank offer mountain biking; walking trails start from the gate. Castle Howard, the Baroque mansion, is five minutes by car. Malton, known for food, is five miles away; the North York Moors Railway runs from nearby Pickering. The Yorkshire coast and York are within reach for longer drives. No smoking inside the property.
