A six-room inn on Raskelf Road near York, with jacuzzi baths in some rooms and a kitchen known for hearty, gluten-free-friendly breakfasts.
About Oak Tree Inn
Some rooms at Oak Tree Inn come with their own jacuzzi bath, a small touch that sets this six-room hotel apart from the average countryside stopover on Raskelf Road, just outside York. It's a compact, family-run feeling sort of place, with en-suite bathrooms throughout and drinks available in the room for those who'd rather not head down to the bar.
The kitchen has built a reputation for generous breakfasts and freshly prepared meals, with proper attention paid to gluten-free diets and to keeping younger guests fed with a dedicated kids' menu. Some dishes have occasionally come out overcooked, but the overall standard and the warmth of the staff serving them are consistently praised. There's a restaurant and bar on site, plus outdoor seating and a picnic area for milder days, and free WiFi and 24 hour reception cover the practical side of things.
Free on-site parking makes it an easy base for exploring North Yorkshire's countryside, and fishing spots along with further pubs and restaurants are all within reach nearby. It's a straightforward, well-priced option for anyone wanting comfortable rooms and a decent meal without needing to be in the centre of York itself.

What guests say
We recently had a 2 night stay here. We had a really good stay and we'd recommend it and we would stay again if visiting the area. The room was clean, looked fresh and was well appointed. The staff were friendly and helpful. The evening meals and breakfasts were really good and they were all served hot and appeared freshly prepared. The breakfasts especially we're really large portions so for the second day I ordered more conservatively and I enjoyed it much more. It is clearly a popular place with both locals and visitors, and it was great to see a country pub thriving. This did however mean on one evening there was a delay with our food. However the staff were apologetic and kept us up to date at all points so there were no complaints from us. Thank you to ask the staff for their hard work.

Fabulous little pub hotel. Friendly warm welcome. Lady we spoke to when we booked she said if were late arriving she would wait for us. Beautifully decorated throughout. Our room was very comfortable and it even had a Jacuzzi bath. Sadly we didn’t try the food but menu looked really good. Had a nice drink in bar though. We will have to make another trip and book in for dinner too. Great value for money.

Unfortunately not good. Sunday lunch was seriously overcooked. Potatoes were hard on the outside. Yorkshire pudding was really dry. Too much gravy had been poured over to try and bring it back to life. Chips were over cooked and hard too. Profiteroles were frozen in the middle, overly sweet and didn’t appear to be home made. Disappointing. The venue and staff are lovely, the food was mediocre.
