Beautiful afternoon tea, large variety of cakes and savoury items, one of the nicest afternoon teas I've had. Cafe staff couldn't have been more friendly ,helpful and accommodating . Train journey was very good and the scenery stunning, although the weather was extremely hot it was very enjoyable. Again, the guard and engine drivers were very friendly and helpful . The only thing I would change would be the time afternoon tea is served which was 12.30-1.30pm

We had the amazing experience of riding in the cupola for a birthday treat for the train geek. Not the most comfortable ride. Could do with a cushion 🤣 but would definitely do it again. The views were superb. The guard was awesome. Fantastic day out. Make sure you get a pie from the cafe for lunch. We will be back

What a wonderful experience! We were a party of 13 including one wheelchair and a couple of young children. We were in the caboose and thoroughly enjoyed from beginning to end. Steve was really informative, good fun and looked after us superbly - which wasn’t necessary or expected, but very much appreciated. The trip itself was through lovely scenery. It was grest fun to see the engine change from one end of the train to the other and then to stop off for a cuppa and cake at the railway carriage tea rooms on the way back. What was really special was the care and attention with which these carriages are looked after and how the team clearly care about them. A peek into the wokshop showed how immaculately these engines are looked after. We couldn’t recommend this enough! It’s superb!

Great experience, very nice views out of the windows. My kid was over the moon. Stops just enough to look around and drink your coffee. You could also get off the train and go exploring to catch another train in an hour or so if you tell staff beforehand. Very dog friendly, you are even given treats and a poobag. Trains take off at exact time stated on tickets so better come 15 minutes ahead. Plenty of parking in front of the building
