Arbuthnott Estate Cottages - Grey Granite
Aberdeenshire
View on Google MapsLaurencekirk sits in the heart of Aberdeenshire's countryside, close enough to coastal villages to make a seaside visit straightforward, yet far enough inland to feel genuinely remote. Grey Granite is one of three cottages converted from a restored schoolhouse on the Arbuthnott Estate, a family home of over nine centuries. The location works for both lazy breaks and active ones: Inverbervie's shingle beach and coastal walks are 3.5 miles away, Royal Deeside is accessible for day trips, and the road network makes exploring much of Scotland feasible.
The cottage sleeps six across three bedrooms—a double, two singles, and a single with a pull-out bed—with one bathroom upstairs. Ground floor holds the kitchen, dining and living areas in an open plan, along with a separate toilet. You get everything you need for self-catering: electric cooker, dishwasher, washing machine, and a fridge. The essentials like bed linen, towels, electricity and Wi-Fi are covered. Wood pellet heating keeps the place warm, and there's a sitting-out area with views over the shared gardens; parking for two cars is on site. The cottage is no-smoking throughout. Families and groups of friends will find this works well for a week or weekend, whether the plan is to stay put or use it as a base for exploring the region.
