About Wairds Park
This community-owned gem sits right by the beach in the fishing village of Johnshaven, fifteen minutes from both Montrose and Stonehaven. The site's well-spaced grass pitches enjoy cracking coastal views, and there's plenty to keep families entertained on-site: tennis, bowling, an 18-hole putting course (all at extra charge), and a playground for younger visitors.
Facilities are spotless, with shower blocks, laundry, washing-up areas, and free wifi at reception. The village convenience store gets high marks, and two local hotels—the Ship and the Anchor—are within easy strolling distance, the latter specialising in fresh local seafood and seasonal dishes.
Beyond the site, you're ideally placed for exploring highlights of the North East Coastal Trail, including dramatic Dunnotar Castle and the cliffs at Crawton. It's a genuinely friendly, well-run base for discovering this spectacular stretch of the Angus coast.

What visitors say
We had a great time! The Campsite is large and spacious. It's located directly parallel to the shore and the view in the morning is beautiful. The lady, who checked us in, is very nice and gave us a lot of good tipps what to visit around the area. The bathrooms are getting cleaned multiple times a day and are in good condition. If we ever come up to Scotland again, we will for sure come here again. Thank you for everything and take care!

This was a last minute booking as our other site fell through. JD was so understanding and helpful, finding us a pitch. When arrived Dotty was so welcoming and friendly we felt right at home. The tent pitch we had was a nice little hideaway and we spent two glorious nights there. We will be coming back😁

We had a lovely overnight stay , all facilities beautifully clean and tidy . I have to mention the gentleman from reception this morning ( Thursday 14 Aug ) who went out of his was you help me with a not so nice situation 🙈I didn’t ask his name but please pass on my thanks to him , he really deserves a mention.
