Aberdeenshire

The River Dee runs through the estate, with walking access from the grounds and the possibility of arranging fishing if you hold a licence. Banchory itself, a few miles away, is a working market town with shops and restaurants, and the wider Deeside area draws people for its landscapes and wildlife—otters, red squirrels and ospreys are known to the region. Little Blackhall Lodge itself was built on the site of a demolished castle, and the grounds still contain mature trees from the old gardens.

The house sleeps eight across four bedrooms, each with two single beds. Three bathrooms are spread across the ground and first floors, along with a living room, a kitchen with electric cooker and two dishwashers, and a utility room. Essentials like heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wi-fi are provided, and there are logs for the open fire. A large garden with terrace and seating faces out over farmland, and parking for four cars is on site. One well-behaved pet is welcome. The property is non-smoking.

A beautiful fishing lodge. Set in stunning scenery, thanks to the owner for sharing such an amazing facility, with the best equipped kitchen we’ve ever experienced, very cosy. Shame we didn’t get to light the fire!
