The Beachcomber

The Beachcomber is a detached former fisherman's cottage in Cairnbulg, one of two tightly-knit villages whose narrow streets and harbour still reflect their working past. The North Sea is yards away, and the wide sandy beach stretches in both directions with remarkably little light pollution—the Northern Lights are regularly visible here in winter. All accommodation is on the ground floor: three bedrooms (two doubles and a single), one bathroom with both bath and shower, and a kitchen-dining-living space opening onto an enclosed courtyard with seating.

The kitchen is equipped for proper cooking with electric oven and hob. Essentials including heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are provided. There is parking for two cars on site and a bike store. The cottage does not permit smoking. Five guests can stay here comfortably; a travel cot is available on request.

Fraserburgh town is four miles away with its beach and working harbour. Golfers will find Inverallochy golf course a short walk off, where each hole faces the North Sea. The Aberdeenshire coast offers boat trips from the harbour, walks to spot overwintering geese, and access to Kinnaird Castle and its lighthouse museum. Peters Ices is among the local eating options nearby.
