About Ailean Chraggan
Fishing on the River Tay, a visit to Aberfeldy Distillery, walking and cycling routes and a nearby golf course all sit within easy reach of Ailean Chraggan, making it a handy base for exploring this stretch of Perth and Kinross. Pubs and restaurants in the area add to the choice for evenings out, though many guests find little reason to leave the hotel's own dining room.
The hotel has just four rooms, each with an en-suite bathroom, giving it a small, personal feel rather than the scale of a larger establishment. Family rooms are available, and dogs are welcome throughout, making it a practical stop for those travelling with children or pets. Drinks can be brought to the room, and packed lunches are available for days out.
Food is a real strength here, with a restaurant and bar serving well-cooked dishes such as fish and chips and a vegetarian haggis wellington, alongside hearty breakfasts to set guests up for the day. The restaurant and bar look out over attractive views, and there's a garden, picnic area and outdoor seating for warmer weather. Parking is on site, and reception operates around the clock for guests arriving at any hour.
What guests say
Booked here for dinner only as we were visiting Aberfeldy. Welcoming and dog friendly. Food was OUTSTANDING. Nice atmosphere and the terrace is lovely on a summers eve. Reasonably priced. Service was good too. Would recommend!

Recently stayed here for two nights with my family. The rooms were very spacious and the shower was amazing. The views around were beautiful and only a stone throw away from the river Tay. The food was some of the best tasting I’ve had for a while and cooked to perfection. All the staff were friendly and helpful. We even had live music on our last night which fitted into our Scottish experience. Cannot recommend this place enough!

Fabulous hotel, brilliant staff and fantastic food. Very dog friendly. Outside heated terrace means you can make the most of the lovely views. Wee bit tweeks needed in hotel but nothing drastic and nothing that would put me off going back. Loved it

Only went for food, been most years since I was a kid and it was always nice. This time it was disgusting. Tiny portions for the prices. Cullen skink was bitter with no fish just loads of potato tasted like painkillers. Fish and chips were dry and tasteless. Rest of my family had similar problems. Waiters face was tripping him whole time. Were told there were no muscles then a family sat down 5 minutes later and were given plates of muscles. Ridiculous price for the quality.
