No 46 Marine Terrace

Asked for the hotel to put some balloons or maybe a banner for my partners birthday and they replied saying they would. Arrived to nothing put in the room which was extremely disappointing. Would have been nice to be informed if this wasn’t possible so other arrangements could have been made. No information about breakfast times etc so ended up not having it. Room really small, bed also small. Shower wasn’t great. Was good for one night but didn’t give a luxury feel as we expected.

Not impressed 😕. No telephone in the room, no information in the room or given at check in, regarding the hotel, we had to look up the hotel's phone number on the Internet and use our mobile phone to call and ask for bin liners etc. When the receptionist came up to check the wifi- as no connection at all was found or password given in the room, she was asked to take our rubbish away but she didn't and we took it down ourselves .Parking advertised as available at the hotel but when you get there you find it's all taken and the reception directs you to a paid council car park- very inconvenient when you have a dog and a lot of luggage to unload and bring up. Room very small but has all as advertised, chocolate crumbs found in dressing table's drawer- obviously not properly cleaned after each stay. The electric shower works very well but so loud when turned on, that you might go deaf if you're in there for too long. The beach is lovely but the area not really dog friendly, all pavements and no grass to be seen for miles, hence a lot of pee puddles and smell all over the place. Not going to stay here for that price again. Breakfast is still to happen so can't comment yet.

The studio apartment has nice views of sea front, however internally the carpets are dirty and we experienced excessive noise from the 1st floor apartment from people just walking and talking, which disturbed us during the night. We were also limited with walking and talking within the night as this caused noise issues to the people living in basement floor appartment. Parking is a huge problem even though there is an overflow car park, which was full on more than a couple of occasions when we returned from a day out. The oven was also not working and this was fixed within a few hours of logging the problem with the reception.

Disgusting room. Felt dirty being here.. I had to clean the drain for the shower myself of all the hair and dirt that had built up over the years, it was vile. There is chewing gum under the dining table! My understanding is the owner used to have a care home that got closed down because she does not care and only cares about the money
