Clart About Sensory Cafe

I honestly can’t recommend Clart About Sensory Café enough. It’s become one of our favourite little places to visit with Jimmy and he absolutely loves every second there. The sensory setup is amazing for little ones — so much thought, care and creativity has clearly gone into it. What makes it even better is how welcoming and relaxed it feels for us parent's. It’s one of those rare places where you can actually enjoy yourself while your baby is having the best time. Such a lovely atmosphere, friendly faces, great coffee and a genuinely beautiful little community vibe. Watching Jimmy light up every time we go makes it so special for us. We always leave with happy memories (and usually an exhausted baby afterwards which is a bonus!). Couldn’t ask for a better sensory café 🤍

Would not recommend. The lady who runs the business is rude. We’ve now had two bad experiences here. During one visit, my nephew burned his hand on a fan (which should not have been in reach of the children as it was scorching). When my sister came back from the toilets to run his hand under cold water, the owner came over after seeing what had happened and said, “Don’t you know there are signs?” I found this response completely lacking in empathy. Most of the children who attend are too young to read, so simply putting up signs is not enough. I would have expected concern for an injured child rather than criticism of the parent. Since my experience, the owner has also publicly posted on Facebook about another family’s toileting accident. Although the hygiene message was understandable, the way it was communicated came across as unprofessional and lacking compassion. As a parent, it made me feel that genuine accidents involving young children are dealt with publicly rather than sensitively. Combined with my own experience, it has reinforced my decision not to return.

We have loved coming here for the last year and a bit. I was always anxious about taking my baby anywhere and wanted to go somewhere she could play without feeling overwhelmed or forced to join in with activites. From the booking process to the location and the lovely owners, hands down this is my favourite place to visit with my daughter. I have tried other places and felt they didn't cater as much to younger babies/non walkers. Now my daughter is walking she still enjoys Clart About as much as she did when she was a little baby! We have moved away from the area now but still love visiting when we can 💙

I always enjoy visiting here with my baby. It's easy to book online in advance, the owner is very pleasant and polite. The food, drinks and cakes have always been tasty. The sensory layout changes quite often so visually that's really nice to see, especially if it's a seasonal change such as Halloween or Christmas. It's a lovely touch. Your visit is for 90 minutes, take your shoes off and on at the main door which is locked for security whilst your in there. The toilets, table's, toys and floors are always clean. My baby loves it here, he and the other children can move about freely, exploring any part they like to. There's interactive and developmental toys to play with and a lovely sensory light section. There's so many toys that are also available to purchase. Always a pleasure visiting here and there's no age limits, suitable for all ages who like to explore.
