Post Office Cottage
Amber Valley
Post Office Cottage comes with essentials covered—electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and wifi are all included, along with initial fuel for the fire. The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering, with a cooker, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. You get the whole place to yourselves: a stone-built semi-detached cottage with two bedrooms (one double, one with twin singles) and a bathroom, sleeping four. Downstairs there's a living room with Freeview TV and DVD player, plus an open fire, and a separate dining room. The enclosed garden has sitting-out furniture and space to relax.
The property is in Lea, a village on the east bank of the River Derwent, with the Peak District nearby for walking and cycling. A shop is three-quarters of a mile away, and there's a pub serving food just 200 yards from the door. Matlock Bath is four miles off, with its riverside cafés, traditional pubs and restaurants, plus the cable car up the Heights of Abraham. The World Heritage site with the original water-powered cotton mills is within a mile. Note that the cottage has several steps throughout—on the ground and first floors, on the landing, and leading to the garden—so check access suits your needs. No smoking indoors.
