The village of Lea, near Matlock, sits in countryside with genuine history—it appears in the Domesday Book and was home to Florence Nightingale in her youth. Catmint Cottage is a Grade II listed property on the edge of this quiet settlement, offering three bedrooms and two bathrooms across two floors, sleeping six people. The village itself has pubs, tea rooms and restaurants within reach, plus the John Smedley factory if you want a local outing.
Downstairs, the open-plan kitchen and dining area connect to a separate living room with a Smart TV and gas fire. The kitchen is equipped for cooking proper meals—there's a range cooker, dishwasher, microwave and coffee machine. Upstairs, one bedroom has an ensuite shower; the other two rooms share a family bathroom with a bath and shower. The property is yours alone, with parking for two cars on site and WiFi throughout. Bed linen, towels and heating are included.
The real draw is the setting. The cottage adjoins a large meadow with a stream running through it; there's a bridge to cross if you want to explore. A lawned garden with patio sits immediately behind the house. One dog can stay free. Note that the stream in the meadow is unfenced. Smoking is not permitted inside.
