Bella Jane Boat Trips

Honestly, this is an absolute must-do if you're visiting Skye! The experience already starts before you get off the boat. Taking the boat from Elgol to the pier is already really nice ! You can see a bunch of grey seals on the rocks along the way if you’re lucky. Once you dock, you're right at the start of some incredible trails. You can do a relatively easy, rewarding walk to the inland loch, or go the bigger peaks if you want a real workout. If you have the time, enery and preparation, hiking up Sgurr na Stri can be a great idea. A few quick tips if you're going : Book the right ticket : pick your ticket based on what you want to do. We choosed the 3 hours cruise and it was perfect for us. Wear the right shoes: The ground is really wet sometimes, and you have to cross a river on stepping stones right at the start. Good, waterproof hiking boots are really recommended. Pack smart: The midges are brutal in the summer, so bring equipment. Also, throw waterproof layers in your bag. The weather out there can change quickly. Overall, just an awesome mix of a boat trip and awesome hiking. Highly recommend!

Wanted the 3-4 boat trip to see some puffins but when it was booked full (this was a last minute decision for us) we did the 1.5hr trip instead and were very pleased. We saw grey seal, common seal, and shag colonies up close. The skipper was great providing insights on the geology and wildlife we saw. When we got lucky and dolphins were spotted breaching across the bay he took us over to get a view and gave us time to appreciate the moment. Excellent experience!

A special day on Skye with my dad celebrating his 76th birthday. I'd like to thank Doreen and the team from Bella Jane Boat Trips for helping to make it such a special day for us. Everyone went out of their way to wish my dad a happy birthday and have a chat with him. We managed to get up to the summit of Sgurr Na Stri and down back to the jetty in under 5.5 hours, which is some going after stopping for 40ish minutes at the summit. I'm lucky enough to have done both the AquaXplore trip (once) and Loch Coruisk trip (four times) and every trip has had a memorable aspect. From dolphins swimming alongside us, to seeing seals and eagles (from a distance) to awesome mountain adventures. Bella Jane is one of my favourite activities on Skye. The team have always been incredibly kind, welcoming and friendly, and very accommodating with boat timings. Can't recommend highly enough.

Fantastic boat trip! The whole team was friendly and welcoming, and Oliver was an exceptional host. He was knowledgeable, helpful, and shared fascinating insights about the wildlife and nature throughout the journey. The secluded island was absolutely beautiful and made the experience even more special. Highly recommend!
