About Skye Shepherds Huts

Tucked into the dramatic Skye landscape, these two shepherd's huts deliver pure romance and seclusion, set well apart to guarantee total privacy. Inside you'll find sumptuous linen bedding, a wood-burning stove for chilly evenings, and thoughtful touches like heated blankets and complimentary toiletries. The communal Big Shed – complete with range cooker, dishwasher and cosy lounge – means you can self-cater in style, while breakfast baskets brim with quality local produce. Guests rave about the stunning mountain views, the peaceful atmosphere and the friendly resident donkeys and cats who wander the grounds.

Dogs are genuinely welcome (there's even an outdoor shower and first-aid kit for muddy paws), and with firepits by each hut, climbing routes and loch-side trails on the doorstep, it's a walkers' and wildlife-watchers' paradise. The terrain can be uneven underfoot, but well-lit paths and accessible facilities make it manageable for most.

We stayed three nights at Skye Shepherd Huts and loved it. The hut was sweet, nicely decorated, and had everything you need. We enjoyed the living space and kitchen area and appreciated all the guide books and maps of the area. The location was excellent and the views great. All very private. Janet was a lovely host and the breakfast basket is a must! Spending some time with Gilbert the donkey was an added bonus! Great stay!

Our stay at Skye Shepherd Huts was the absolute highlight of our trip. We liked the location - off the beaten track yet only 10 minutes from Broadford with absolutely stunning views from the hut. The hut itself was cute and cozy, and we loved the wood-burning stove. The owner, Janet, was a delight and made sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay (she also recommended a place for lunch in Glencoe that was one of the best meals we had in Scotland). If you appreciate nature and enjoy peace and quiet, I highly recommend Skye Shepherd Huts.

Unfortunately only stayed for 2 nights! If you can stay longer do. The most fab place. Everything you need is provided. When the weather allows the views are stunning. Even though there was a strong wind on our last night we were still toasty warm in our Shepherds hut. We had a visit from a wet cat one night - I would have let it stay in but my husband wasn't so keen so out it went once dry. Donkey's came to say hello on our last morning. Wonderful place to unwind and slow right down- thank you Janet and SSH.

We had a lovely 4-night stay at Skye Shepherd Huts. Janet was friendly and very responsive to any queries. The hut was cosy and comfortable, and the Big Hut nearby had everything else we could need. Skye Shepherd Huts is very dog friendly, and the fence around the hut meant our dogs could be outside easily without bothering the cute friendly donkey or causing mischief. The location is peaceful and not far from Broadford where supplies can be obtained.
