What visitors say
Great place to visit to learn the Scottish way of life years ago. When you enter the houses it's like walking back in time. You get a real sense of what life must have been like. Once you have done the tour pop into the cafe and gift shop. Great food and a warm welcome from the staff. You won't be disappointed

For anyone interested in getting a glimpse of how people once lived in the Scottish Highlands, this is a worthwhile stop. The site features a charming café offering a selection of cakes, sweets, and more substantial meals. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The historic township itself includes a variety of traditional houses, sheds, and other buildings that provide an interesting insight into everyday Highland life in the past. It’s a pleasant place to explore and learn a little about the region’s history.

A must visit if up have any interest in local scotish history. This small town is not a recreation as gas been mentioned in previous reviews. It is the last remaining town in scotland, showing how highland folk lived from 1500s to the 1960s and the impact on them from the Highland Clearences of the 1750s. Im so thankful that this town was not wipped from the landscape like all the others. The staff i spoke to on reception were very friendly and informative. If you are in the area please visit and support this very importants historical site.
