🏡 Self-Catering Cottage

Alt na Blathaich

Argyll and Bute

Argyll's coast draws people for its sea lochs, ancient woodlands and quiet villages, but few properties offer direct access to the water itself. Alt na Blathaich sits on the shore of Loch Eck with its own mooring—a genuine advantage if you've brought a kayak, canoe or paddle board, or plan to hire one locally. The cottage is a three-bedroom, one-bathroom property sleeping six, renovated to combine period character with modern comfort.

Downstairs you get a ground-floor bedroom, a family bathroom with a spa bath, and an open-plan living space with woodburner, smart TV and dining kitchen. The kitchen is properly equipped for self-catering, with electric oven, hob, dishwasher and washing machine. Upstairs are two further bedrooms: one with a kingsize bed, one with two singles. Loch views matter here, and the layout takes advantage of them. The garden has sitting-out furniture for watching the water, and there is parking for two cars on site. Wi-Fi, electricity, bed linen, towels and initial logs for the burner are included. Smoking is not permitted.

The surrounding area has marked walks through Argyll Forest, three golf courses, public gardens including the Benmore Botanic Gardens, and the village of Tighnabruaich a short drive away. Dunoon offers shops and leisure facilities nearby.
