About Holiday Inn Express Barrow-in-Furness & South Lakes
Holiday Inn Express Barrow-in-Furness & South Lakes suits travellers who want a straightforward, well-run stopover rather than a destination in itself - people heading into the Lake District, exploring Cumbria's coastline, or in town for business. With 127 rooms across four floors, it has the scale and consistency of a dependable chain hotel, and staff are noted for being helpful and accommodating rather than just polite.
Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning and family options for those travelling with children, plus practical extras like laundry service, packed lunches and in-room drinks. Breakfast and evening meals are served on-site in the restaurant, with a bar for a quieter drink, and there's outdoor seating, meeting rooms and business facilities for those mixing work with the trip. Pets are welcome, and on-site parking is available, though it comes at an extra charge.
The location on Market Street puts golf, fishing, cycling and walking routes within easy reach, along with nearby pubs, restaurants and entertainment. It's a practical choice for covering the South Lakes and Cumbrian coast without booking somewhere more remote.

Great hotel! Stayed here last night for an event in the town hall direct opposite. Smooth check in, lovely staff especially the lady working breakfast this morning, clean and spacious room, very comfy bed. Couldn't get a space in the car park as it was full but there is a huge pay and display car park opposite which was free from 6pm then all today as no charge on a Sunday. Breakfast was good too especially for an express hotel. No complaints! Definitely recommend and the nicest holiday inn I've stayed in.

The rooms were excellent—clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The location is also fantastic, making it very convenient for getting around. However, my experience at reception was disappointing. I felt that the service I received was not welcoming, and at times it came across as unfair and uncomfortable. This stood out to me because, in my daily life, I have always had very positive experiences with people here in the UK, who are generally kind, respectful, and inclusive. It’s unfortunate when one negative interaction affects an otherwise great stay. I hope the hotel can ensure consistent professionalism and respectful treatment for all guests in the future. I just wanna to say please change the receptionist.

We stayed for two nights The service was fantastic Dal at the front desk was more then happy to answer questions and very informative! Derek, I believe he was the manager made the rest of the check in process smooth and assisted us with our bags. We had very good service with Molly at the bar. Drinks were quick and good! She makes a great espresso martini
