About OYO Hotel Imperial
OYO Hotel Imperial suits travellers who want a straightforward, no-fuss stay rather than a destination in itself - overnight business visits, one-night stopovers, or anyone exploring Cumbria on a budget. The hotel sits centrally in Barrow-in-Furness and offers free on-site parking, making it an easy option for anyone arriving by car.
Rooms are en-suite and include family and accessible options, with several noted as recently renovated and kept clean and comfortable. That said, some rooms show their age in the carpets, and a damp smell has been mentioned, so it's worth bearing in mind if that matters to you. Breakfast includes cooked options, and staff are consistently described as friendly and helpful. The hotel also has a bar, free WiFi, room service, drinks available in rooms, lift access, luggage storage, and meeting rooms, plus it operates as a wedding venue.
Beyond the hotel, guests have access to golf, fishing, cycling and walking areas nearby, along with watersports, entertainment, and a choice of pubs and restaurants close by. It's a practical base for getting out and about in the area without paying for extras you don't need.
What guests say
Stayed for 2 nights, there is refurbishing going on but too be honest we didn't notice , staff are lovely and can't fault them , rooms very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was lovely freshly cooked. Friend opted for full English which to be fair was lovely , I went for poached egg and they were cooked perfectly. Couldn't fault our stay .

Great hotel, the outside does look old and kinda weather worn. But inside is excellent and rooms are nice clean and modern. Staff are super helpful and makes things so much easier. Can't wait to see the place after the make over. Can't recommend enough

The hotel is in a great location, right near the town centre, with buses at the end of the road. The room was very spacious and incredibly homely and warm. Beds were comfy. The bathroom had a bathtub. The room was well lit and nice and quiet, making it perfect for a good night’s sleep. The staff were very hospitable. Breakfast was good, though the dining room could do with brighter lighting. I’ve stayed in other well- known chain hotels across the country and would say that my stay here felt more refreshing than any of my stays there, mainly due to the homely and warm atmosphere. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Barrow-in-Furness

Stayed here for Dave Day. Room was ideal for me, clean decent TV & ensuite show room. Breakfast was ok for the price. Staff are friendly & helpful. Good value.
