About Bay View Guest House

Bay View Guest House occupies a spot on Fore Street in the heart of Beer, a Devon village built around its fishing beach and coastal setting. It's a straightforward, traditional guest house rather than a large hotel, with the kind of personal feel that comes from a small operation on a village high street.

Rooms are en-suite and come with drinks making facilities, and breakfast is included to set guests up for the day. Packed lunches can be arranged for those heading out walking or exploring, and there's free WiFi, luggage storage and 24 hour reception for flexible arrivals and departures. Parking isn't on site, though chargeable parking can be found nearby.

Beer itself gives easy access to the Jurassic Coast, with walking and cycling routes on the doorstep and fishing and watersports available locally. Pubs, restaurants and other eateries are close by, and there's a golf course and further entertainment within reach, making the guest house a convenient base for exploring the area on foot or by car.

I did not spend the night so I cannot review the accommodation but we had the most wonderful chowder for lunch in their little cafe and the prawns were huge the portions were huge and coming from Massachusetts and The best chowders in the world, I can honestly say that I’ve never had any better than this. Thank you for a really great lunch, Bay View. A Yankee transplant.

Had breakfast here nearly every morning while on Holiday in Beer. The service was excellent and the breaakfast was well cooked and wonderful. The owner gave us free drinks one of the morning because we were in there so often. Already missing my breakfasts!

Lovely tearoom in a great setting close to Beer Beach, with a good range of lunch options on the menu and a friendly atmosphere. The sandwiches were top quality and nicely served, and the coffee was good. We didn't have to wait too long for food even in August, and the tearoom had a welcoming feel, with an attractive indoor seating area shared with a craft shop. Food and drinks weren't overly expensive and we had a very enjoyable lunch here while visiting the picturesque town of Beer.

Been twice for breakfast, really lovely staff and efficient service, sweet little tables laid out in a way that maximises the small space available without it feeling crammed, breakfast both times was absolutely delicious, eggs always cooked perfectly and lovely fluffy bread. Good pricing, perfect location. Paid parking nearby. Love the little shop attached. Will be back for round 3 soon!!
