I recently stayed here for my sisters hen where I booked the full townhouse. We loved our stay and would recommend. The whole house was really clean, rooms were of varied sizes but all really clean and cosy with en-suite in all rooms which were also really clean. The vending machine in the living room was a great touch. Breakfast was just what we needed: tea, coffee & fruit juice, toast, cereal and small pastries. The patio outside was also really clean and looked after. There is a small super market across the road and multiple pubs all within the area.

I seriously do not know how people have rated it 5 stars. Some staff are quite welcoming but not all. The “deluxe” room was still quite small, it was just the 2 of us and we were still stepping over each other. The breakfast was prepackaged and very sparse. On both days we were there, there was only 1 yoghurt in the container and the staff would only replace it when it was empty with 1 yoghurt which was quite odd. Breakfast was quite awkward as there are only 2 tables so if other people are there, you have to wait until they’re finished. Rooms are supplied with a fan but still very hot, definitely felt hotter as the room was quite cramped. When we got there, the shower wasn’t working at all and no one came out to check - I ended up checking the fuse box myself to see the shower had been tripped by something before our arrival. Impossible to find staff when you need them if it’s after 11am and have to rely on calling the phone number supplied but the people on the other side are quite useless because they aren’t in the hotel. Bed was comfy enough. Water pressure was terrible. Overall, very basic hotel that lacks in quite a few areas. Fine for a couple nights stay. I booked it based on the positive reviews but I genuinely couldn’t find anything 5 star worthy here.

While the hotel advertises itself as dog friendly, that wasn’t our experience. Before arriving, I contacted the hotel to confirm we’d be bringing our dog and was told there would be no additional charge. However, after a 10–15 minute check-in — despite us being the only guests waiting — we were unexpectedly presented with a pet fee and asked to sign a pet policy. The staff member checking us in appeared uncomfortable around dogs, which unfortunately made us feel quite unwelcome from the outset. The pet policy itself mostly covered obvious, common-sense expectations, and it gave the impression that pet owners are assumed to be irresponsible, which felt unfair. The room itself was also unbearably hot with an extremely old mattress. Although it was a warm day, the room seemed poorly ventilated and not equipped to handle the heat comfortably. On top of that, traffic noise from the busy road outside was very noticeable throughout the stay.

The place is clean and has a cute, cozy vibe, but unfortunately, comfort is zero. The mattress is completely worn out, and the extra folded mattress provided to put on the floor was stained — which is honestly disgusting. On top of that, we couldn’t control the temperature in the room, making it hard to get any rest. It’s a shame, because the place has potential, but the lack of basic comfort really ruined the experience.
