About The Malone

Belfast's leafy Eglantine Avenue, a short reach from the city centre, is where The Malone makes its home, giving guests a quiet residential setting with easy access to attractions and transport links into town. The hotel runs to 102 rooms, and among its most noted features are the generous amount of space on offer and a breakfast that guests tend to remember fondly.

Beyond the rooms, the property includes a restaurant and bar, a gym, and a garden, along with practical extras such as lift access, luggage storage, air conditioning and free WiFi throughout. Porter and concierge services are on hand, and valet parking is available in addition to free on-site parking, which is a genuine convenience for anyone arriving by car in the city. The Malone also functions as a wedding venue for those looking to host an event on site.

Staff are generally described as friendly, though a handful of guests have found service inconsistent at times. Nearby, there's no shortage of options for eating and drinking, with pubs, bars and restaurants all within easy reach, plus entertainment close by for evenings out beyond the hotel itself.

We attended the wedding showcase at Malone, and what a transformation it has undergone. The venue is absolutely stunning, from the elegant reception room to my personal favourite, the beautiful ceremony room. The event coordinator, Jemma, was fantastic. She gave us a tour of the venue and really helped us picture what our wedding day could look like there. She answered every question we had with confidence, explained all of our options clearly, and her knowledge and passion for the venue really shone through. She made the whole experience feel exciting and effortless. We left feeling incredibly impressed and even more excited about the possibility of celebrating our wedding at Malone. Highly recommend booking a visit if you’re looking for a beautiful wedding venue.

Awesome location in the Belfast area. A perfect starting point for our area visits. The staff at the Malone were wonderful and attentive. Rooms were cozy and well furnished. The hotel has dining and a small bar available as well as meeting rooms. I have never felt so at home, so far away from home. The redbrick Victorian has windows that look out onto the roadway for people watchers, and the parking in the back make it much easier to travel in and out. Our room was on the southeast corner looking out into the road and the alley corner. Although there was nightly traffic it was not too noisy. A truly beautiful hotel.

Used this hotel for dining or visiting its bar or its function rooms for events, never used for overnight stay. Large parking lot at the back, including an underground level. Public areas spotlessly clean, all mahogany, leather and terracotta. Very pleasant. A reasonable menu at the restaurant, a very helpful team at the bar. The restaurant and the bar are worth a visit, especially to justify your parking on their property if you are after something else in the area, for example the Queen's Uni, whose buildings are scattered around.
