About The Castle Hotel
For visitors who want a simple base for exploring Berwick-upon-Tweed rather than a destination in itself, The Castle Hotel on Castlegate fits the bill. It suits families travelling with pets, golfers and anglers heading out for the day, and anyone who'd rather park for free and walk to the town's sights than worry about logistics. Berwick Castle and the Royal Border Bridge are both within easy reach.
Rooms are en-suite and traditional in style, with family rooms available for those travelling with children, plus drinks available in room. Free WiFi covers the property throughout, and 24 hour reception means arrival times are flexible. Breakfast is served on site, and there's a restaurant and bar for other meals, along with a snack bar for something lighter. Packed lunches can be arranged for days out.
Golf courses and fishing spots are nearby for those who've come for sport, and the surrounding streets have further pubs, bars and restaurants for evenings out. It's a no-fuss option for a stay built around what's outside the door rather than what's in the room.
