What visitors say
Fantastic Family Day Out We visited The Big Sheep during the Easter holidays and had an absolutely brilliant day. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that there was plenty to see and do for all ages. One of the highlights was definitely lambing season. Being able to see and feed the lambs was a lovely experience and something the children really enjoyed. We also watched the duck show, which was both entertaining and surprisingly funny. There were plenty of rides to keep everyone occupied, with my teenagers happily disappearing off to enjoy the larger rollercoaster while the younger members of the family explored the rest of the attraction. The facilities were excellent throughout the day. The toilets were clean and well maintained, which is always appreciated when visiting with children. The staff were friendly, welcoming and particularly accommodating towards neurodivergent children, which made a real difference to our experience. There is also a brewery and gift shop on site with reasonably priced gifts and souvenirs. A useful tip for anyone planning a visit is to book tickets online in advance, as they are cheaper than purchasing on the day. It was also great to see that carer tickets are available. The only thing that caught us out was that we hadn't realised Devon's school holiday dates were different from ours, meaning the attraction closed earlier than we expected. Thankfully, queues were very short and we still managed to do everything we wanted to do without feeling rushed. Overall, The Big Sheep offers fantastic value for money, a wide variety of activities, and a genuinely family-friendly atmosphere. We would highly recommend a visit, especially during lambing season.

Staff were all excellent, especially at the shows, front entrance and brewery. Lamb feeding was a little disappointing that we were rushed through but I'm glad that everyone was able to get a turn. The animals all looked happy and healthy, feeding and petting was great. The roller coaster was better than expected and it was easy to navigate the park.

Visited on 2 Aug for the first time since 1988 - it's changed a bit since then!!! So many things to do and the animal shows were brilliant. Thank you to the lady doing the shows that day as she was amazing. Really engaging and her passion for the animals really shone through. The staff members in the cafe, the ice-cream kiosk, the pedalos and in the animal barn were all really polite and friendly. It was a shame that our first interaction at the entrance was with someone who clearly did not want to be there and was completely disinterested. However, that did not put a dampener on the day as we got to feed goats and lambs, watched the ducks doing their thing and generally had a great time!

We visited The Big Sheep for our little boy’s third birthday and had an absolutely fab time. The staff were lovely, the shows were great, and our son was living his best life from the moment we walked in. He’s now convinced he owns a sheep and has named it “Dave”, so thanks for that. A brilliant family day out, we'd definitely come back.
