About Adventure Camping

Adventure Camping is a campground on Abbotsham Road in Bideford, Devon. The site has showers. It sits within walking distance of The BIG Sheep, an indoor play and farm attraction, and also close to Skern Adventure and Country Life Brewery and North Shore Distillery.

The location works well for families wanting to be near attractions without the overhead of a caravan park, and for touring campers needing a base with decent facilities. Bideford itself is a working market town rather than a resort, which suits those after a quieter stop over a holiday park atmosphere.

What visitors say

We've had a fantastic few days! Our accommodation was as expected, basic but clean and everything we needed. The site facilities are all very good and there is plenty of seating and tables everywhere. We also did the Ultimate Adventure Big Day out which was so much fun for all the family and everyone was exhausted by the end. Huge big shout out to James who was fantastic! So glad we had him as our team leader for the activities, he was so fun and encouraging for the kids. A great asset to the team. All in all a great value fun packed weekend.

Lovely place. Calm, very quiet and family friendly. All the facilities are tidy, very clean and near. The kitchen facilities are brilliant. Toilets 2 minutes walking and are very clean. The owners are very friendly and helpful. After camping in a lot of places, this one is 10 out of 10 and in the top 3. Planning to came back soon.

Rooms and toilets are clean but few things were missing. In 8 person room There are 10 usb sockets but only 3 coat hangers. There are no tables or chairs in the rooms.

We stayed for 3 nights. Was ideal The Big Sheep theme park being a 10min walk away. We had a good pitch area hardly anyone there in non electric. Showers and toilets were clean. Although showers were nice and powerful they sprayed water right to the end of the door meaning if shoes were in there they would get soaked so the next time kept them outside though the towels etc that you would put on hooks also got wet which wasn't good. Also no hand dryers in wash room just had to let them dry naturally. SIgnage wasn't that good either felt very remote slightly derelict and as if the whole place was not finished yet. Wasn't very inviting looking when we first came in. Did for what we needed though.
