What visitors say
A friendly, calm and competent atmosphere set by the staff - just what you want. Tom was great - patient and passionate trying to find shoes that fit me (an impossible task!). It's great they have a strength and conditioning area with cardio kit like bike and rowing machine - it makes it a real training facility. Some nice routes up too. Amazing shop too! I look forward to returning 💪 👌

Had a really good experience today at the depot. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Made it really easy experience and I think a very good price for a days activity £35 for two adults. Something different and a great activity to do. Parking is available cafe and a small shop. So very nice activity to do with friends.

I'm a regular at this gym and have been for just over a year. The facility is incredible, with a large bouldering area, segregated campus area, gym and training board area (along with the new tension board). The setting is incredible, throughout all of the grades too! Sets are great and challenging at any grade boundary, there's always something to learn from a boulder in the gym. I will say that depot Birmingham doesn't have a huge variety in newer hold shapes, and volumes that you might find in other gyms such as Depot Sheffield or Armley. However for what they may lack in flashy holds and volumes they more than make up for in setting styles and incredibly challenging moves. Also just to quickly mention they have recently procured some new holds for the yellow set and not so recently for the pink sets which are a very welcome addition to the gym! I have tried various other Depot's around the country and I'd say Birmingham is tougher than most other gyms, with a very heavy power and body strength based setting style. All of the staff are wonderful! They're incredibly knowledgeable and very friendly. Always there to lend a helping hand if you're struggling on a boulder or even if you just want a chat. All in all the facility is a great place to train and there's no doubt you'll get strong if you frequent it, has a friendly environment and some good music too (usually when Dan is on shift).

Not too expensive and they offer student discount. Have a shop and a cafe and you can get gear loaned for the day. No rope climbing. They have an upstairs gym. Can lock your bike up inside. The place to put your stuff isn’t secure. Music is good. The climbs they offer are very good. Lots of variety in all grade ranges. The grades are simple to understand as they’re all colour coded. Can get super busy though. They run clubs too.
