About Fortuna House Hotel
Blackpool Tower is within easy reach of Fortuna House Hotel, making it a workable base for anyone keen to explore the town's seafront attractions, while Blackpool South station lies just a short distance away for onward travel. The hotel occupies a spot on Rawcliffe Street, putting guests close to the everyday rhythms of the resort without being right on top of the busiest stretches.
The hotel itself is a modest set-up with 11 rooms, a bar on site, and breakfast available each morning. Air conditioning and free WiFi are provided throughout, and reception is staffed around the clock, so arrivals and queries can be handled at any hour.
It suits travellers who want a straightforward, no-frills stay near the station and the town's main draws, though it's worth noting that guest opinion on the property has been mixed, so expectations should be kept realistic. For those prioritising location and basic comfort over polish, Fortuna House Hotel offers a convenient enough base in Blackpool.
What guests say
Leaking ceiling, broken bed, broken cupboards and wallpaper pealing off kf walls as the negatives. Good location to nearby tram station and close to north pier. Personally wouldnt recommend even if the price does draw your eye.

Absolutely awful, room wouldn't lock from the inside, mold on shower and bedroom curtains, no air con, bed hard as a rock, no view as promised, furniture in a state, the whole place stank of stale incenses and mold, mislead by the photos online, wouldn't recommend.

Well, I don’t usually write reviews, but I felt I simply had to say something after our recent stay. We booked this hotel for a couple of nights while visiting Blackpool, thinking it would be a nice little getaway. But, oh dear… the moment we arrived and saw the place, we all wanted to turn right back around. When you first walk in, it’s clear the place has seen better days — it’s rather dark and quite outdated. Checking in was simple enough, and we found our rooms easily, but once we stepped inside, I was honestly quite taken aback. The wallpaper was peeling right off the walls, and there was mould — and I do mean everywhere. All over the bathroom ceiling, on the shower curtain, and even the bedroom curtains. It was very unpleasant. The room I was in had stains all up the walls, and even the paintings were marked with who-knows-what. I was terribly disappointed by the overall cleanliness — or lack thereof. While the beds had been made nicely, the mattresses were hard as bricks, and to make matters worse, there were crumbs in the sheets and hairs on the blankets. Not exactly what you'd call inviting. You could also hear every creak and sound from the rooms around you — through the walls and even the floor. All in all, it was a very poor experience, and I’m afraid I wouldn’t return, nor could I recommend it to others. Such a shame.

We stayed here for a long weekend and after giving really nice owners the benefit of doubt but after looking at other reviews the problems we had are not new ones as it’s been like it for years. The room no 10 we had is one of the dirtiest uncared for rooms we have ever stayed in, dated/dirty walls and floors, cleared evidence of damp a bed base covered in stains (no idea what it was but made us feel Ill). We had to wipe the headboard of the bed down with wipes we bought from the nearby pound stretcher as it was grim with liquid stains of some description over the sides. The location is near the seafront so that is ideal and the owners are really nice people but that should not be enough to paper over a terrible stay. The mattress is pure metal springs coming through and was a very painful sleeping experience, the PAT test stickers on all the plugs were 2020 which was concerning as was the missing escape route map in the case of a fire which I’m sure is a requirement for the rooms or at least the corridors. Paper coming away from the walls, mould showing, sideboards draws with god knows what in them as they clearly never get wiped clean. I would not recommend this as a place to stay as the experience may well cause a divorce if you are married.
