About Jays Mayfair

Dickson Road runs through Blackpool close to the seafront, and it's here that Jays Mayfair occupies a Victorian townhouse with the kind of period frontage typical of the town's guesthouse streets. The setting puts guests within reach of the coast and the attractions that draw people to Blackpool, from the Tower to Pleasure Beach, without the price tag of a seafront address.

Inside there are five rooms, kept simple and functional rather than styled, each with an en-suite bathroom and the option of family rooms for those travelling with children. Guests can settle in the lounge and bar of an evening or take a seat out on the terrace, which looks over the garden. Breakfast is included, and free WiFi and drinks in the room cover the basics well.

Parking is available on site, useful given Blackpool's busy streets, and 24 hour reception means arrival times are flexible. Beyond the door there's plenty to fill a stay: golf, fishing and watersports nearby, cycling and walking routes, and a good spread of pubs, restaurants and entertainment within easy reach.

A Wonderful Stay at J's Mayfair Guest House I felt warmly welcomed by Jay and his wife Laura —truly fabulous hosts who are not only kind and informative but also incredibly friendly. Their hospitality made my stay feel personal and memorable. I stayed in Room 1, which was beautifully decorated—bright, clean, and thoughtfully functional. It had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The breakfast was a real highlight. Not only was the food delicious and plentiful, but the presentation of the table and the dining room itself was exceptional—elegant and inviting, showing real attention to detail. If I had to mention anything, it would be a small personal preference: the mattress was a traditional sprung design, not particularly deep or firm. That said, it didn’t detract from the overall comfort or enjoyment of my stay. All in all, it was a fantastic experience. I would highly recommend J's Mayfair Guest House to anyone looking for a warm, welcoming, and well-run place to stay. I absolutely loved my time there and will definitely be back. Thank you, Jay and family! P.S. I hope you get that 3D printer soon!

We didn't enjoy our stay here especially breakfast because it was small amounts and only 2 peaces of toast and when I asked for more felt a bit like Oliver Twist and I'm sure I'm not the only one who likes more then one coffee with there breakfast? I ve been coming with the boys to blackpool since 2021 to different Guest houses and never had an issue with having more coffee in fact they asked us if we want more so this experience was not what we're use too. We found both owners abrupt and hard to talk too. The good points close to plasemt Street tram stop clean room and the boys loved that there room was separate to mine. Respond to owner comments. I knew this type of response was coming . I think you have misunderstood the comment about the coffee I was talking about myself not the kids it only does only over one cup and when I did asked for more I got a Oliver Twist response. I don't know how the guest would talk about the boys manners as the family was at the back of the breakfast room and could not see them and the farther and son was behind us so could not see us so that doesn't add up. Regards to cereal you had the wrong coco pops, and my son open the box and seen it was the wrong ones and you understood this. So I don't know why you say he wasted it. And to your comment with your wife I had spoke to her more then you mentioned. After this experience we will go back to a guest house we used previously .

Just had a long weekend with us and another family for our yearly visit to Blackpool. What can I say absolutely amazing. The family rooms are really spacious and clean throughout. Breakfast was amazing and the owners are really welcoming and take care of everything. The location of the guest house is really close to seafront, town centre and trams stop. Breakfast was also amazing. So good we've booked again for next year with both families.

We stayed at Jay's for 3 nights and the room was clean tidy and nicely decorated with an unsuite. Breakfast was freshly cooked each morning by Jay and was cooked to perfection each time. Jay was very friendly and always had time for a chat. Overall very pleased with our stay and would highly recommend to other's who plan on coming to Blackpool.
