The hotel was very clean. but needed an update. the wallpaper looked like it hadn't been changed this century. The staff were very helpful and polite. Just a shame that no money had been spent on the place in years. Other than that. place was OK.

The hosts are really lovely. Very helpful and friendly. The room was clean and comfortable though somewhat dated. The breakfast was adequate and the dining room was inviting. The hotel wasn spotlessly clean things however, the decor was very dated. For what we wanted which was a bed for the night after attending a gala dinner at the Winter Gardens the Lynton hotel served this purpose. Plus the off street garage parking made a great difference.

This hotel is awful, rooms are cold and damp. Hotel has no heating system and windows do not shut properly, when we complained the owner provided an electric heater and extension lead the fire constantly sparked whilst on and I honestly thought it might catch fire. The hotel room was dirty with thick layers of dust as soon as you move something seems cleaner only dusts around things. Beds had no headboards which meant pillows were pushed against damp walls made worse by owners constant insistence that all electric be turned off when you were not in room to save money so could not even keep room at constant temperature. The desire for the owner to save every penny even stretched to only having one bulb in the bathroom light instead of the three it should have making bathroom very gloomy. You have to switch on shower from switch on wall in bedroom whilst using the shower the wall switch becomes very hot. On arrival there was no toilet roll in bathroom had to request this from owner. Whilst the owner was friendly to talk to he was dismissive of all complaints and made very clear he didn't want to run a hotel. We did not have breakfast due to how dirty hotel was but if you did want it service time is 8am to 9am only and there is no choice. Had another couple knock on door at midnight as they had no heating or fire despite complaining to enquire if we had contact details for owner as he was no where to be found. This hotel should be closed down and completely renovated and brought upto modern standards. I would give 0 stars if this were an option.
