Mellory hotel

I never got to see the room. I arrived 30 minutes late to find the place locked up. I called and left a message, they didn't reply so I emailed them through booking.com and received a terse reply. Then they asked for an extra £20 to check in! I guess it's their 'terms and conditions' but so much for customer service. Having a look at the 'hotel' though I think I dodged a bullet.

This is the worst hotel we've ever stayed in as you walk in the smell it's you. The woman who says she works here she couldn't be bothered to say hello just it's £10 for the dog. When we got to the room it was horrible there was 1 old towel on the bed for 2 people, the fridge is mouldy and dirty, there's a crack in the sink ,a extension cable across the floor, no hot water this was our 1st and last time ever going anywhere near this hell hole. Take our advice stay clear.

despite the hotel management's best efforts, the stay was awful. the room was tiny with the single bed for my youngest being tight up against a radiator. also, hole in the ceiling. the communal toilets were disgraceful, empty beer cans with cigarette ash all over them, no toilet roll and very cramped. the shower had no working lights. having mobility issues at the time, the stairs were a nightmare as we were placed right on the top floor. at some point during the night, two 'guests' couldn't seem to make it to their room so decided to sleep on the stairwell, preventing us from using the facilities. management were informed and the issue was dealt with reasonably quickly, but still not something you'd want to see. additionally, the sink unit in our room was badly cracked and worn in several places and couldn't use the cupboard as it both blocked and was blocked by the small fridge door. having medication that required to be kept cold, this was another issue. on the up side, however, the bed itself was clean and comfortable and the view of the tower from our window, though small, was beautiful at night. also, the management were incredibly sympathetic over the mobility issues and gave us a large discount and the offer of another discount at a related hotel nearby if we went back. overall, not a good hotel, but good people were trying to run it. also noted was the language barrier, but they tried their best. won't be staying there again, but will consider related hotel at some point.

Good for the price, my room was freezing with no heating. When I was in the room I had to get under the cover to keep warm. Plus I have walking problems but they put me up 3 flights of stairs. Dodgy wires nailed to wall. Not the best but it's a bed.
