About Norbreck Castle Hotel Blackpool

Queens Promenade runs along the seafront north of Blackpool's main attractions, and Norbreck Castle Hotel occupies a long stretch of it, looking straight out over the Irish Sea. With 480 rooms, it's one of the bigger hotels on this part of the coast, and a tram stop right outside makes it an easy base for reaching the town centre, the Pleasure Beach and the illuminations without needing a car.

Rooms are en-suite, with sea views available, and there are family and accessible options along with the usual extras like drinks in the room. Guests have access to a restaurant, bar, indoor swimming pool, gym and a spa and sauna, plus meeting rooms for anyone travelling on business. Breakfast and kids' meals are both catered for, useful for families staying a few days. It's worth knowing that some parts of the hotel show their age and it can get lively at times, so it suits guests after a straightforward, well-located base rather than boutique polish.

Outside the hotel, the promenade itself is good for cycling and watersports, and there are pubs, restaurants and entertainment nearby for evenings out, with golf and fishing also within reach for a change of pace. On-site parking is available for a charge, and pets are welcome, making it a flexible option for a Blackpool seaside break.

Totally dilapidated, run-down hotel. Needs a complete overhaul… from the broken entrance, to the garbage filled pond, dirty lift and crumbling exterior. We were there for a dance weekend, which was a blast, otherwise wouldn’t touch it. Conference facilities good. Rooms are shabby and utility basic. Beds and towels clean, no housekeeping offered. Hearty breakfast in clean dinner hall. Dinner unappetizing but hot and filling, salad offering limited but fresh. Staff are a saving grace - friendly and helpful. Requested a fridge for meds, only thing that worked was the light, arrived dirty and containing months-old carton of off-milk! Directly across the road for tram into Town Centre.

Title: Great Improvement This Year We stayed at the hotel for our church conference and had a much better experience than last year. The biggest improvement was the food, which was much better in terms of quality and variety. The building is quite old and the carpets are looking tired in places, but the staff were friendly and helpful, and the overall service was good. Overall, we had a positive stay and were pleased to see the improvements. We look forward to returning in the future.

The room are normally fine and ok, on the day we went the toilet did not flush but the reception did everything he could to help. The room we got moved to was cool but the TV was not working but managed to fix it myself. All in all 6/10

Just been to Norbreck Castle Hotel for a church conference. The building from the outside just looks very dated even with a new touch of grey and black paint. The rooms are very dated and dirty. Window sealing very dusty under the bed were sweet wrappers and lollipop sticks and dusty. Appeared to have not been vacuumed for a while. Shower had moulds on the door seals. Toilet was just filthy the outside and rim areas. Carpet seemed to be dump. The bed felt very lumpy not comfortable at all. No mattress protector on it and the room was very cold. It appears to be too big for the number of staff provided on a daily basis. Walls and ceilings are not noise proof so if you are a light sleeper like me you can hear everything through the walls. Overall experience it felt like I was in a hostel not a hotel. The place needs a lot of work
