About The Mardonia

Blackpool's seafront and Pleasure Beach attractions are within easy reach of The Mardonia, a family-run guesthouse on Crystal Road that makes a handy base for exploring the town. With 11 rooms, it keeps things small-scale and personal rather than aiming for a big hotel feel.

Rooms are cosy and simply furnished, with drinks available in room, and guests can start the day with a cooked breakfast before heading out to the coast. Downstairs there's a bar and a pool table for evenings in, plus a restaurant, a garden and a lift for easier access to the upper floors. The property also hosts weddings and has porter services on hand for luggage.

Free on-site parking and free WiFi are included, useful extras for anyone driving up to Blackpool or wanting to stay connected during their stay. It's a straightforward, welcoming spot suited to those who want to be close to the seafront without paying for a large resort hotel.

Stayed here for 3 nights with family. My sister and I shared a Twin Room, and overall, it was a fantastic stay! The room was super comfy and clean, though the WiFi could've been better. The location was great - just a 2-minute walk to the beach, which was perfect. It's a bit further (about a 20-minute walk) from the main attractions up the promenade, but honestly, that's reflected in the very reasonable price. Plus, being slightly away from the busiest areas made it feel a bit more relaxed. Breakfast was really nice, but the real standout was the staff. They welcomed us like old friends and were just brilliant throughout our stay. We did have one unfortunate incident - my stepdad's car got hit while it was parked on the narrow street outside. Totally not the hotel's fault, but parking in the area isn't ideal, so that's something to keep in mind. To their credit, the hotel staff were amazing about it. They informed us right away and offered to help in any way they could, which we really appreciated. All in all, a lovely stay with fantastic hospitality. Would definitely come back - just maybe without the car next time!
