I booked this hotel in August 2025 for July 2026 as I was going to a dance competition and this was spot on location wise. Price seemed reasonable and I was content No communication was had from hotel during the year and a week before I was due to arrive my payment was taken. Move forward to a couple of days before I was due to arrive and I decided to ring to check if I was on a lower floor as I have had a hip injury. The lady who answered the phone had no record of my booking at all. I spent the next day and half chasing between booking.com and the hotel. No one had any answers. Eventually less than 24 hrs before I was due to arrive the hotel contacted me to say the couldn't honor the booking. I was horrified and then had to spend more hours trying to get my refund so I could go elsewhere. My issue is this. I booked 11 months in advance My money arrived with the hotel the Friday before I was expected. If they had no record of my booking why did they keep my money? Why did they not contact me to tell me I had no room? The amount of stress this caused me was immeasurable. They did not care that I was left without a place to stay. An alternative was suggested but they did not check if they had room and it was far too far away to be running to each day with bags and costumes. With the help of a friend I located another venue. No thanks to this place. I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy

Fantastic location for everything. The room was comfortable and everything I needed. Only one thing I think it's lacking is a bedside lamp as I had to get out of bed to turn the light off but that's a minor thing. Loved the key card giving access in and out of the hotel easily so I could go out exploring. Very kindly you let me store my bag while I went out on the last day thank you! Friendly owners and I had a great stay for the price I paid. I will be back!

The lady on reception was very kind, friendly. I had forgotten my charger and she lent me hers. I think the hotel is excellent value for money, it's in a great location. There is also free continental breakfast available in the reception. I would definitely stay here again.

If I could score a zero, I would. This bed and breakfast is a disgrace. Booking in was the first hurdle - extremely disorganised, it appeared to us that the proprietor was not expecting us. We were allocated room 4 and an ‘apartment/suite’ downstairs. Room 4 was ill-equipped and dirty. The ‘apartment/suite’ was, again ill - equipped and very dirty. Cigarette ends from previous guests were found on the floor at the side of the settee. Woodwork was marked and unclean. The seating area for families to share consisted of a pull down bed and a settee. The bedroom consisted of a double bed, rickety wardrobe, bedside tables which were made up of two units stacked onto top of each other and the mattress was extremely ‘firm’. I would never have prepared food in the kitchen. To get to this ‘apartment’ we had to walk through a storage area and outside into a very untidy garden area. We left after one hour having sought alternative accommodation. In short, rather than paying the proprietor to stay there, they should pay us. I do have photographs to substantiate my claims which are unrecognisable compared to those used to promote this property on Booking.com and I shall be sharing my findings directly with them.
