A 24-hour reception and on-site bar and restaurant set The Wynnstay Hotel apart on Hornby Road, Blackpool, close to the Tower and Pleasure Beach.

About The Wynnstay Hotel

Round-the-clock reception is one of the more useful things about The Wynnstay Hotel, a straightforward base on Hornby Road in Blackpool. Whether guests arrive late from the Pleasure Beach or fancy a lie-in before heading to the Tower, someone is always at the desk to help.

Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms and the option of family accommodation, along with free WiFi, drinks available in the room, and room service for those who'd rather not go out. Downstairs there's a bar and restaurant, breakfast is served on-site, and outdoor seating gives guests somewhere to sit outside when the weather allows.

The surrounding area suits a range of interests, with golf, fishing, horse riding and watersports all nearby, plus cycling and walking routes for anyone wanting to explore Blackpool on foot or by bike. Pubs, bars and restaurants in the vicinity mean evenings don't have to be spent far from the hotel, and there's entertainment nearby too for those staying longer.

We have had the worst weekend ever staying and this dreadful hotel, there was a horrible smell when we walked in the hotel and it was very cold. They charged us a different price too what was in the diary and continued too argue with us over the price that was quoted by the previous owners. Cheryl & John which no longer own this hotel, The new owner Tony was very rude towards me and shouted at me on the Sunday afternoon and really upset me staying that's all I have done since I have arrived is moan because i asked for the heating too be turned on he then walked into the lounge (And called me a silly old cow) his wife Florence was in the corridor and she heard him say this too me has he walked into the lounge so i said too her did you here what he called me but never said anything too him the way he spoken too me, so I was very upset has you can imagine. The bedrooms are dirty and not cleaned like the previous owners very smelly and cobwebs hanging down also carpets are dirty and rubbish underneath the beds. Also the breakfast isn't cooked to order either, On Monday the Breakfast wasn't cooked fresh it was left in the heated pots and left from the day before, Florence asked if i had bacon i said I didn't want any thanks so she said where have it all gone then i cooked 7 slices she then went back into the kitchen and brought out the cooked bacon on the tray from the oven and put it into the dirty pot from the day's before's bacon. These owners have never run a guest house before and told me they are only running it too make money so they can go on a cruise. It was very hard for me going back here without my husband and disgusted too be treated like this and i will never be returning ever again. Absolutely shocking 🤯 🤯 🤯 🤯 MY husband and I have been going too this hotel for year's and have never been treated like this ever before, We have had many great times in Blackpool, With our family and friend. Our last vist has a family two year's ago was with my husband, daughter and Grandchildren we all had a great time with Cheryl, John, and Dot the Grandchildren loved it with it being there first time in Blackpool and bonded well with them all. John was a real character and we had many great times with them at this guest house. The food was excellent with such large portions breakfast was cooked too order John would ask us the night before what we wanted too eat and it was always piping hot, then he would take our orders for evening meal at breakfast time which was excellent food too that's why we kept on coming back. In March my husband went up too Blackpool with my son and son in law too watch a football match at Barrow and stayed over at the Wynnstay Hotel they had a great time. I booked with the pervious owners in June and requested room 1 but i never got that room they put me in room 10 out the back which was very cold with no heating on. My husband wasn't able too make it in person this time because he passed away in April Unfortunately, So we went up too scatter his ashes from the Central Pier that was his wishes, But he's back in his happy place now where he loved. I can't thank the security enough for allowing us the time too scatter my husband's ashes.

AVOID AVOID AVOID - just came home from a 2 night stay. The new couple running the hotel don’t have a clue. When we first arrived they could not decide what we had to pay (trying to honour prices originally agreed with previous owners)for our stay, agreed a price we payed then after an evening out they decided we needed to pay more, they continued to moan about the previous owners pricing for the rest of the weekend. Room was very small and outdated with cobwebs on the walls. The breakfast was nice with plenty on offer with freshly cooked eggs. New owners are not very friendly and not very professional. The lady even made a rude comment about my mother in laws hair being white at her age. No licensed bar, although there is a fridge in the lounge you can use to store your own drinks, this does get turned off by the owners quite often

Didn’t even get a chance to stay here. Booked my room well in advance (October 2024) for an event this year. Received a message today saying “your booking has been cancelled due to unavoidable circumstances” with no warning. Went back to booking.com and saw the same room still advertised at double the price. No response from OYO or the hotel. Greedy and money grabbing - avoid at all costs unless you want disappointment

Really lovely helpful couple. Let us have a late checkout and let us leave our car there whilst we went for lunch because they weren't busy. We stayed for 2 nights - February 2025
