Captains Rest

Captains Rest is a ground-floor holiday cottage in Christchurch, with direct access to the beach and the New Forest nearby. Two bedrooms—one with a kingsize bed, the other with two singles—sleep four. The property spreads across one level: a living room with Freeview, a separate dining room, a kitchen equipped for proper cooking, and a shower room. Everything you need is provided, from wi-fi to bed linen and towels.

The real draw is the garden. An enclosed rear space comes with a summerhouse fitted out with furniture, a TV, wi-fi, books and games—somewhere to sit beyond the main house. There's also a private parking space for two cars. The kitchen has an electric oven, hob, dishwasher and washing machine. One dog can stay free of charge. The property does not permit smoking.

Three-quarters of a mile puts you within easy reach of the coast. Hengistbury Head and the New Forest are both accessible for day trips. Note that the cottage has small steps throughout and some narrow doorways, and CCTV cameras operate outside.
