Belchamp Hall Hayloft is a converted stable building on the grounds of a Queen Anne house dating back to 1611. The single bedroom and bathroom sit on the first floor, opening onto a lawned garden with furniture and a barbecue; a shared tennis court and wider estate are also available. The space combines original oak beams with modern comforts: a four-poster super king bed, a smart TV, and a fully equipped kitchen with electric cooking, dishwasher and microwave. Heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are included.
The hayloft works well for two people wanting a break in rural Essex, close to the historic villages of Lavenham, Long Melford and Clare. Sudbury, home to Gainsborough's House, is nearby, as are Colchester and Bury St Edmunds. There is parking for one car on site. Five steps lead down from the garden. No smoking is permitted.
