About Drybeck Farm
Tucked into the Eden Valley near Carlisle, this tiny traditional farm site sits right on the River Eden, where a tranquil swimming spot awaits the brave. Choose between a barn field or riverside pitch (both non-electric grass), and embrace the back-to-nature spirit with quirky compost loos and eco-friendly shower products—though you won't be roughing it entirely, thanks to hot showers and that glorious woodfired hot tub. Resident horses and chickens add to the charm, sometimes providing fresh free-range eggs for sale.

Absolutely wonderful place to stay. Total detox from the fast pace of modern day life & social media, back to beautiful nature in a tranquil & soul-soothing setting. We’ve visited here quite a few times now & wouldn’t stay anywhere else. The beds are sublime, the hot tub a most enjoyable experience, the surroundings picturesque, rustic & charming individually themed accommodations & Steve, “the host with the most”, always gives you a warm welcome & always goes above & beyond to keep his guests happy. As always, many thanks for your hospitality & for sharing your beautiful site with us. We’ll be back for more soon!

What an absolute pleasure it was to stay here! Me and my partner went for a birthday/romantic weekend and we both couldn't be happier. Steve was brilliant, very friendly and helpful with everything, including showing us how to use the wood burner for the hot tub, and advising us on things to do in the area. We stayed in 'the lantern' and it was absolutely fantastic. So close to nature yet so homely at the same time, a prefect place to rest and relax. Armathwaite is a gorgeous little hideaway in the lakes and would definitely recommend if you're looking for something cute and cosy with a sense of camping and a few little creature comforts. Will 100% be coming back in the future. Thankyou for such a lovely stay!
