About Englethwaite Hall Caravan and Motorhome Club Site

Tucked into Cumbria's Eden Valley with High Stand Forest as a scenic backdrop, Englethwaite Hall offers spacious, well-maintained pitches—both electric and fully-serviced hardstanding options—that make it ideal whether you're breaking a long M6 journey or settling in for a proper stay. The former Old Hall's rhododendrons still flourish here, and a viewing hide lets you spot the thriving local red squirrel population. Guests praise the peaceful atmosphere, dedicated dog exercise areas, and helpful staff.

Facilities cover the essentials for self-sufficient tourers: motorhome service point, chemical disposal, and free wifi. Woodland walks thread through the grounds, and there's easy access to nearby fishing and attractions. While this is a Club site—so expect efficient rather than luxurious amenities—it strikes a lovely balance between convenience and tranquillity, particularly if you're looking for a well-kept base with a bit of nature on your doorstep.

Lovely site 👌 Has everything you need apart from toilet block which would be a great bonus. Nice woodland/lake walk from site plus village pub not too far away. We took our bikes & explored as far as the Solway Aviation Museum. Quiet roads around site. Wardens helpful and friendly nothing too much trouble. Would highly recommend this peaceful site 😊

This is the third time we have stayed at Englethwaite Hall Caravan club site. We stay in Aberdeenshire and visit family in Somerset, so we like to stop over for a few nights to break up the journey and find Englethwaite extremely peaceful. There are no showers and toilet blocks so you need to be self sufficient, however the service areas are immaculate. There is a little shop at reception where you can buy cakes and chocolate from the friendly staff, but this is cash only due to a lack of internet. There's a lovely little shed with tourist information and a selection of books to rent or buy. There is a lovely fairy walk and a good dog walk area, plus an exercise field, where dogs can play off the lead, although the fence is not very high and larger breeds could jump it. The far side of the caravan park is a gate leading to pleasant walks in the forest and around some lovely lakes. This is a peaceful site if you are looking to unwind or explore around the Carlisle area. Or a convenient stop over if you are travelling between England and Scotland.

This is a wonderful location with some terrific walks, there's even a fairy glen. Look as you walk the woods you may even see a faired house! Great for a one night stop over en route to Scotland or a few days if you are touring. You must have your own toilet & washing facilities though as it has fresh & waste water and chemical toilet waste. There is no toilet & shower block.

What a lovely site, although no toilet or shower block it is very well maintained. The wardens are very polite and helpful. There is a short dog walk, a lovely little fairy Glen and a squirrel hide. The site sits on the Cotehill wood circular walk.
