Crown Hotel Wetheral

Had a really enjoyable 2 night stay here. Set in a beautiful village this hotel was very comfortable. Our room on the 2nd floor had a small outside seating area set in the apex of the roof. This meant that we could open the door to let some decent air in, I often find hotel rooms too stuffy. We ate here both nights and thoroughly enjoyed it, breakfast was also lovely, a continental buffet whilst the cooked items were prepared fresh to order. We also felt that the evening meal was well priced. The leisure facilities were much appreciated by us. It's also worth noting that the hotel is very close to the train station so we got a train to Carlisle (10 minutes journey time). The staff were lovely, especially the super helpful and jolly gentleman in the restaurant , sadly I didn't get his name. We'd definitely stay here again. Thank you.

Great Stay at the Crown Hotel Wetheral. Stayed here for my Partner's Graduation which was perfect as 15 minutes from Carlisle (Train Station less than a minute walk). Staff were so helpful especially when it came to sorting out food in the restaurant (Iris and Dan) and advising what was suitable to have due to having an allergy. Room was lovely (stayed in Greenlane Cottage) and the Gym, Swimming Pool and Sauna was in great condition and not too busy. Our family joined us halfway through our trip and also had a fantastic experience. Would recommend to anyone looking for a Hotel in a lovely location (some nice little walks around the village) and will definitely be back to stay.

Attended an afternoon tea birthday celebration and quite disappointed with some aspects. No menu to show what was in the sandwiches - weird orange filling with what looked like tomato puree was probably cheese with a chilli or hot sauce. What thought was beef was tuna. Scones were overkneaded, overegged and overcooked and again not sure on flavours. I think one was cheese but couldn't see any butter on the table near me. The others were fruit but not much fruit visible plus some were hollow. They were the same colour all over and really struggled to cut them. The mini quiches were also overbaked but had delicious filling - not sure what! On a plus point, sausage rolls were lovely and meaty. Good choice of sausage. Cakes were also lovely but not sure of flavours other than the lovely chocolate with a kirsch cherry. Whilst the doors on the conservatory were open, we were surprised there were no fans around the rooms.

We organised a baby shower for a friend at the hotel and had a great experience. The room was beautifully set up and the food was fresh, well presented, and really well received by all the guests. The staff were attentive and very helpful throughout, and made everything run smoothly for us. I’d definitely recommend the hotel for celebrations and wouldn’t hesitate to book again.
