The Ryeland Retreat sits on the grounds of Godwick Hall, a working farm in the Breckland countryside between Norwich and the north Norfolk coast. It is a shepherd's hut—a compact, self-contained cabin with everything on the ground floor. You get a bedroom with a double bed, a shower room, and a combined living room and kitchen with a woodburner for warmth on cooler evenings. Bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi and electricity are included, and there is parking on site.
The kitchen is equipped to cook proper meals rather than just heat water. A garden with seating looks out over the working farm. Wells-next-the-Sea and the beaches of the north Norfolk coast are a 20-minute drive away; Norwich is within reach for a day out, and King's Lynn (with train links to Cambridge and London) is 17 miles south. Godwick Hall itself—a historic site in open countryside—makes this a good base for walking. The cabin does not permit smoking.

From the moment we arrived, it was evident that the hospitality extended to guests is second to none. Your warm and friendly manner created an atmosphere that was both welcoming and accommodating. No request was too much trouble, as you consistently went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. The property itself is nothing short of breathtaking. It offers an abundance of privacy and is equipped with every amenity one could possibly desire. The inclusion of a barbecue and a live burner for outdoor heating was particularly appreciated, allowing us to enjoy the beautiful surroundings comfortably. Not to mention the hot tub, which provided a perfect opportunity for relaxation after a day of exploration. The fully equipped kitchen allowed us to prepare meals with ease, and the comfortable double bed ensured restful nights. Additionally, free parking was a convenient feature that added to our overall satisfaction. The sight of wide local animals roaming freely around the area was delightful, adding to the charm of the location. The proximity to a major Aldi was also advantageous for stocking up on supplies during our stay, making it even more convenient. In summary, our stay at your property was so good that we find ourselves longing to return time and again. Beautiful little cabin in an idyllic surrounding. There are 2 cabins, but it still feels private. The cabin has everything you need, including a very comfy bed, powerful shower. We made the most of the hot tub, which was lovely and warm and ready to get into when we arrived. We also used the bbq which was a lovely touch to have. Anne provided a bag of charcoal aswell. It was just such a peaceful stay. The photos do not do the location justice. We will be back

Brought my partner for her birthday and had a super magical stay at Anne’s. She was very nice and showed us everything we needed to know on arrival. The hot tub was ready to go when we arrived, and it was beautifully decorated with lights. I felt very secluded as well, which is perfect for a couple’s getaway. They had a small electric stove, so I was able to cook something simple like steak and spaghetti with no problem. There was also very little light pollution, so I was able to see Taurus and Gemini clearly in December. Would highly recommend and hope I get to stay again in the future.

It was Perfect, Very Romantic Would happily go back again. Anne is a fantastic host and feel very privileged to of had the B&B all to ourselves. Loved Everything The Hot Tub, Fairy Lights, BBQ and Fire Pit Perfection. Powerful HOT 🔥 Shower Very Steamy. Did not want to leave 🐸
