What visitors say
We had a fantastic family visit to Kenilworth Castle. The scale of the site really took us by surprise – it’s far more impressive than you expect from the photos, so allow plenty of time to explore. The children really enjoyed it too, especially with the audio tour, which brought the castle’s history to life. Learning about Robert Dudley and Queen Elizabeth I’s famous visit made the experience even more interesting. The café and gift shop, set inside one of the medieval buildings, were a welcome place to escape the heat for a while, and the gardens are absolutely beautiful. We were lucky enough to visit on a glorious sunny day, which made walking around the castle and grounds even more enjoyable. A great day out for families, history lovers, or anyone wanting to explore one of England’s most impressive castle ruins.

A very interesting place to visit. I recommend arriving before opening time and buying tickets online in advance. A rich history is told through information boards and an audio tour. In my case, the audio did not work; fortunately, the ticket office had a book I could borrow, which contained everything that is normally narrated, so I could read it at the various points, which was very helpful. Good atmosphere, beautifully maintained gardens and outdoor areas. Definitely interesting and worth the visit for history enthusiasts.

Absolutely beautiful place, full of great history. The grounds were spotless well maintained. Toilets were very clean. All staff members were full of information, very helpful and really polite. Parking was simple. Oh and in the gate house they had a lift so I was able to go up each floor. Overall a great visit, will definitely go again
