About Severn Valley Alpacas
Perched at one of the highest points in the Severn Valley, this intimate farm site delivers those stunning hilltop views across the valley to the Clee Hills—and the novelty of alpacas wandering freely around you. The breeding herd provides the backdrop for trekking sessions and alpaca experiences (bookable for an extra fee), while birds of prey nest in the adjacent woodland, their calls mingling with the gentle whistle of passing steam trains below. It's a genuinely peaceful spot, with just a handful of non-electric grass pitches scattered across the top field.
Families find plenty to occupy them: a nature area in the orchard, outdoor games and toys near the duck enclosure, plus easy access to footpaths and hill walks from the gate. The village of Alveley lies about 40 minutes' stroll away, offering a church, shop, Chinese and Indian takeaways, and three pubs serving everything from weekend breakfast buffets to Sunday roasts. Staff earn consistent praise for their warmth and local knowledge, ensuring every visit feels personal rather than production-line.

What visitors say
My partner and I visited Severn Valley Alpacas today after I’d seen it googling things to do near Bridgnorth. We did the Short Walk. Not only are the views beautiful and the land totally serene, but it was a really lovely and genuine experience. The alpacas are friendly and calm (and so cute!!!), they don’t smell or spit or bite if you’re worried about that. We booked the 1 hour walk and ended up there for 3 hours just chatting with the owners and taking in the views with a cup of tea! Andy and Lorraine are both very knowledgable about all things alpaca. During our visit we had the chance to hear a little about their story and how they ended up running an alpaca retreat - safe to say they are wonderful individuals who we would happily visit again. You can tell they love their alpacas and take good care of them all, they’re also very accommodating and as someone with ADHD and sensory issues (which I did not disclose to them), I found the overall experience very serene and relaxing. They don’t rush you and they’re happy to let you take photos/videos or take them for you. £30pp may seem steep originally, but I think it’s a very fair price considering you get to be up close with the alpacas, get to know them and facts about them, get to feed them by hand, pet them AND take photos. I highly recommend visiting. If you have youngsters or a disability (visible or invisible) Lorraine is very knowledgable and the farm is accessible by wheelchair or zimmerframe, so everyone can enjoy their experience. You MUST book in advance as it is on a slot basis. There is a small parking area just before you take a short walk down to the farm, but those with wheelchairs I was told are able to drive right up to the gate. Thanks again to you both and best of luck with your future plans! Yas and Callum

My partner and I were looking for something fun to do locally for her birthday and happened to come across Severn Valley Alpacas. We loved the idea of this so booked the ‘Alpaca Short Trecking’. We visited today (03/03/2026) and met Andy & Loraine and 41 alpacas! Andy & Loraine were so friendly and knowledgeable, it was so interesting speaking to them and hearing their story of everything that had led them to where they are now, just really lovely warm people. The alpacas we walked were Dave and Eddie who were really gentle and so well looked after by Andy & Loraine. We then met and fed the other alpacas including some of the youngsters, they were all very cute! All finished off by a complimentary drink and snacks while sat down looking over the fields with the alpacas running around playing. What a fantastic day out. Big thank you to Andy & Loraine, we can’t wait to visit again! 😁

Andy & Loraine made our Xmas party unforgettable! Such wonderful hosts, nothing was too much trouble. I organised a Xmas alpaca experience for 11 kids and 22 adults - it was incredible. They tailored the experience to our needs - meeting & feeding the alpacas, learning about them, mini trek where we walked them around the paddock, kids received handler medals and then … SANTA CAME!! The kids gift were great quality. We were given plenty of time to host a party in a specially decorated stable, with treat box, hot chocolates and warm mince pies. We brought extra refreshments too. Big thanks to Andy & Loraine for their care, time and effort. Highly Recommended & your money is going directly helping care for the Alpacas.

We loved it, we didn't choose the best day to visit because of the Weather, but it was great fun and Alpacas are lovely gentle creatures. They cannot bite you because Alpacas only have bottom teeth.
