About The Hideout
Tucked into quiet Somerset countryside just off the M5, this small adults-only site delivers exactly what it promises: peace, space and spotlessly maintained facilities. The shower blocks earn consistent praise for their cleanliness, and pitches are pleasingly level whether you opt for electric or extra-large non-electric grass. Helpful owners offer local tips and create a genuinely relaxed atmosphere—perfect if you're after proper downtime rather than on-site entertainment.
From here, you're within easy reach of Glastonbury Tor, the beaches at Burnham-on-Sea and Weston-super-Mare, plus the cultural draws of Bristol, Bath and Exeter. Wildlife thrives in the surrounding lanes, and cloudless nights reward stargazers. The site keeps things low-key—no ball games, no pets—so it suits those who appreciate a good book, a gentle walk, and the kind of tranquil countryside setting where you can actually hear yourself think.

What visitors say
A nice and quiet little campsite in a beautifull and chill valley spot. Magical view and the bathroom a real treat: like you walk into your own at home. Book in advance.

Whilst touring around the west country at the end of May this year I was without a location to stop at over the Spring bank holiday. Hopefully I rang the site and much to my relief I was told that I could stay there. I couldn't have been happier. It is so aptly named, quiet, peaceful and tucked away in such a beautiful valley. It provided me with all that I needed to help me on both my life journey and prepared me for my next geographical destination. Jackie and Glyn, who own the site, are very friendly, helpful and maintain it to a very high standard. The grounds are immaculte and the facilities are modern and better maintained than most campsites I have visited or even some short stops like Holiday Inn or Travel Lodge. I will definitely be returning as often as possible to top up on the peace and tranquility the site offers but, I will definitely book ahead of time and not leave it until the last minute. Thank you both so very much for accommodating me and my little white VW Caddy at such short notice. See you both soon.

Absolutely fantastic site and a great welcome by the owner. Loads of space, super facilities with some more showers on the way. No dogs and no kids made for a quiet stay, other than farmers bailing before the weather turns. The photos show how well the site is looked after. We'll return for a longer stay next time.

What a fabulous find! Great hosts, very friendly and informative. Small adult only site and no dogs allowed. Very quiet and chilled. Immaculate toilets and showers. Spacious pitches. This is a great location to explore Somerset. We will definitely return as 3 days just wasn't long enough!
