About The Hood Arms
The village of Kilve sits between the Quantock Hills and the Bridgwater coastline, a quiet stretch of Somerset countryside where The Hood Arms has long served as the local pub and inn. It's the kind of setting where free on-site parking and easy access to the Bridgwater & Taunton Canal matter more than passing traffic, and the pub itself has the low-beamed, well-worn feel of a proper coaching house.
There are nine rooms, all en suite, kept comfortable and spotless, with free WiFi and 24-hour reception for guests arriving late from the road or the hills. Downstairs, the restaurant and bar are the heart of the place, known for generous portions, a changing specials board, fresh seafood, and Sunday roasts that regulars return for. Staff are attentive without being fussy, and dogs are genuinely welcome rather than merely tolerated.
Breakfast is served on site, and beyond the front door there's fishing nearby along with other pubs and restaurants dotted around the village. It suits walkers heading into the Quantocks, anglers, and anyone wanting a proper meal and a quiet room at the end of the day.

Wow! Loved my meal there, friendly welcoming staff, great menu, food was superb! I had the charcuterie platter with a very tasty array of items well presented and almost couldn't finish it. This was definitely my favourite meal on my tour of UK.

Arrived to start our coastal path walk. The owner was wonderful, helping us on our way and made the whole experience great. The garden is nice and big with an awesome room (including a lovely bath) looking over the garden. Would recommend the stay for anyone who wants to start their coastal path walk from Kilve.

Incredible little hotel and pub, we didn't have any food but had a nice breakfast. The owner is such a nice guy, so welcoming and accommodating! Our room was amazing - excellent size, comfy bed, great bathroom and very quiet being on the back of the building. He also very kindly upgraded us to a superior as there were not many guests that night free of charge. It's also a short drive to Klive beach which was an amazing morning walk along the rocks and cliffs.

Just spent 3 nights at the Hood Arms and had a brilliant stay. The room was outstanding as was the food. Great location to explore the fossiliferous coastline. Would definitely recommend. Thank you.
